One of the students in a childbirth educators course asked an
interesting question today. We were discussing ways of reducing stress
in babies who have suffered difficult births and were not nursing well.
One of the methods is to put mom and baby together in the bath. What
happens if the mother is a few days pp and is still bleeding? Is it
o.k. for her to be in the bath with the baby? What about infection? Is
it safe to use a tampon temporarily to contain the flow while in the
bath?
TIA.
