I have a friend who successfully nursed after removal of a benign lump.
The lump was very near the areola.  That breast engorged, but would not
secrete milk.  Surprisingly, she did not get mastitis.  That breast
returned to pre-pregnant size.  She successfully nursed her children from
the other breast. What I do not know is the impact of lactation on her
risk of recurrence of her cancer--does anyone know?
