Judy K.,Thanks for pointing out that I jumped around in my thoughts.
Duromorph is given after the delivery is over so you shouldn't have much if
any to cross over to baby. When the Epidural is placed and dosed for delivery
another drug is used,Marcain usually used here.Also used in labor epidurals.
I am really hoping to see stats for suck problems(whatever causes the
problem) we have lots of itching and vomiting and a lot of moms say they wish
they hadn't had it. We have few resp. problems but watch pts. closely. Moms
do move well and c/o less pain. We are now on to bigger and better drugs in
C/S we now use contnuous Fentanyl Drips into epidural cath. by a pump. Less
side effects seen but what a pain to have another pump and cath. to worry
with in ambulation. Thanks for input. Goodluck to all in South Florida, we
are in Clearwater and hoping for the best.
