Well, folks. I finally got my hands on a sample pump that is now being
marketed by R...s; initials of the pump developer is WR. If you don't know
what this is, write me privately. In any case, a colleague who is an
experienced breastfeeding mother AND a breastfeeding support volunteer and
I BOTH tried to use the pump.

1) It was very difficult to put together. Took both of us to figure out
what the little valve-y thing was and what it was supposed to do! Finally,
we got the thing put together and she tried it.

2) First attempt resulted in her feeling that her hand and arm were badly
used in order to pull up on the cylinder.

3) Second attempt (using the other hand) resulted in her hitting her chin
repeatedly! NOT VERY COMFORTABLE!

4) We think (but are not sure) if the screw thing on the top is to hold the
bottle cap so the cap does not get lost when the bottle is screwed to the
bottom portion. Is this clear to anyone?

5) My colleague was not enamored of continued attempts to use this device.
Considered it most uncomfortable and likely to create carpal tunnel
syndrome with repeated excursions.

We then experimented with other uses for the pump. I thought she was onto
something when she suggested that it might make a nice telescope for the
children. However, the flange was not sturdy enough (too soft and giving)
to stand up or hold its position on the counter (in order to steady the
telescope), so that suggestion went into the round file.

We are open to other alternative uses others might suggest.

PS Has anyone attempted to CLEAN this pump? Is it easily cleanable? Hard?
Why or why not?

We await the thoughts/experiences/recommendations of others who have used
this pump.
