    Ann:  Thanks for your comments.I fully agree that if we aren't there
when another LC is working with a mom,we don't have all the information.
Seeing moms both in hospital and as outpatients, I find that the baby is
often at a very different responsive stage. We have to deal with a high
epidural rate, inductions, etc. which I feel alters the infants desire
to suck. It is very difficult to see a mother struggle to get the baby
to eat.I feel that we as LC's try with every effort we know to keep the
mom continue with breastfeeding. I am sure that we too hear incorrect
information sometimes about what the physician has said, so we need to
communicate with one another so we know what has been done & where we
hope to go with support.
Let's all remember to not judge too quickly the actions of others unless
we know the whole picture.
