I believe that weaning milk is salty tasting so if mom is not pumping 
often enough and baby is not nursing, this makes sense.

Sometimes breast refusal is something of concern, but sometimes not: 
baby prefers one side due to over abundant milk flow or not wanting to 
turn one's head one way or ear infections, etc. Many women nurse one sided.
