Slightly off-topic, but I have an idea that I want to research.  I need a kind someone that has produced a research study and published to give me some guidance.  I assume I should find a PhD program, and use this as my dissertation, but, I am not certain that is the only way - and of course, I want to start right now.
 
The research study would involve sensory integration and the type of infant carriers mothers choose.  It would be part anthropology/cultural study and part neurobehavioral science.  I have a simple BA (in Shakespearean Literature!) but am ready to leap into whatever path necessary to study my idea.  
 
Anyone have any idea where I should begin?
