There is no rationale for not nursing with mastitis.  The evidence is
that mastitis gets better more rapidly with nursing than stopping
nursing.  The baby is in no danger.  The physician has no evidence that
it is dangerous for the baby to nurse when the mother has mastitis.
Clinical experience also suggests more rapid resolution with continued
breastfeeding.
