Yes, Diane - and I'd add the name "Diane Wiessinger" to the list! (And I'm
not just saying it 'cause we're friends...) Diane Wiessinger has published
in JHL, and spoken at major conferences; her work on positioning is
particularly notable, as is her work on "watching our language" re: BFing
issues. Although she is modest and soft-spoken in manner, Diane is
tenacious, and her efforts are tireless and even in fact effective.

I do think that you make an excellent point. And I don't think that you
really could have read "the basic books" without getting familiar with at
least many of these names (though some have got me stumped, I'll admit it
freely!). Many of them have *authored* the basic books, for heaven's sake!

In college, I was a religion and philosophy major; I wouldn't have learned
much if I hadn't come out being able to discuss the works of Kierkegaard,
Hobbes, Rousseau, Buber, Aristotle, Hiedegger, Kant, Nietzsche, etc. It
wouldn't have been sufficient to be able to quote chunks of Bible or Koran
or Torah, or Aristotle's Dialectics, or Buber's works, without knowing the
names and the contributions that went with the names.

Cathy Bargar RN IBCLC (who wants it to be clearly known that she was *not*
the IBCLC "from a different planet" who said that a mother planning a
pacemaker insertion couldn't BF!)
