This is such a nice Sunday-afternoon topic, Morgan. I'll my sips and snippets.
My eldest daughter caught my icecream horn in the fly when sitting in the baby front carrier when she was about 4 months. Her brother after her coudn't wait for a bite from his dad's old-Gouda cheese and mustard rye sandwich. And my youngest (sitting next to me now, 190cm long and still in for a snack every hour as he was since the moment of his birth) grabbed my hand when I was eating a sweet ricepudding pie at a LLL area council meeting I chaired. When I cooked ricepudding the next day he didn't want it. Of course it wasn't as sweet as the pie and there was no whipped cream on it ;-)

Mine, for instance.. his first food was fatty oven sludge from the 
bottom of the oven. And my friend, her little boy's first food was a 
pellet of dried cat poo!  Made all the more horrific for the fact that 
they were visiting friends, and the friends didn't have a cat!

I have heard of dried up hoover flies being another baby's first food.  
And my other friend knew her calender had been her baby's first food, 
when she found the bits, still identifiable, in his nappy!

Bah humbug!  :-)
