The issue wasn't re-using the milk "once" in 24 hours, but that there was
no increase in bacteria count with the re-use of breastmilk after it had
been given to baby and returned to the refrigerator. The milk would not
have been given to a baby cold.

And the conclusion of several studies is that the bacteria count decreases
continually for up to 8 days so one can use and re-use it without concern.
It is a live substance and the antibacterial properties are there and
continue to do their work of destroying bacteria.
