These babies need bodywork first and foremost. TT revision is a three-pronged approach--proper revision with aftercare protocol, breastfeeding support that may include suck training and other exercises and bodywork until the baby has normalized function. If these babies were on the breast before, they are usually back on within about 12 hours, if not, then progressive feeding techniques that may involve bottles, finger-feeding, nipple shield, supplementing at breast may all be useful.

Subject: Relay hung after lip/tongue tie repair

Hello,

If anyone is willing to offer advice on how to help mothers get babies back
to breast after having lip and tongue ties released, I'd appreciate it.
It seems like all of my clients lately have need procedures done to correct
theses conditions, and all of the mothers have been having trouble with the
baby not latching well or refusing to latch, even after the tissue heals.
Any tips besides keeping baby skin to skin often and making the breast a
pleasant place, ie not forcing the baby back on?
