Someone recently posted that sterile specimen containers are "free." Not in
our hospital. We did a careful analysis of the different options and these DO
cost money in our institution. And even tho the dollars and cents seems smaller
on paper, ours don't fit any pump, the colostrum looks like less than it does
in a volufeed (Check the amount of mL they hold) and the milk needs to be
transfered to a volufeed to feed any way. So it is more cost effective to pump
into them. And they, along with sterile water bottles are NOT free either.
