Cindy S says:
I would interpret this to mean just what it says, "require and obtain
consent to share" It doesn't say that the LC is required to share info with
the PCP, just obtain consent to share.
Read the statement w/o the "and" -- it then says: require consent to share.
I think an attorney (though I could be wrong) would interpret that to mean
you are required to get the consent of the mother to share information w/ the
health care provider.

It would be interesting to get IBLCE's input on this rather than us spinning
our wheels.

1. Is a report to the primary health care provider (whomever that may be)
required by our board?

2. If it is, what if the mother refuses to consent to a report?

3. If it is not, in what cases, if ever, is it required?

4. Is number 23 to be interpreted that we get consent from the mother to
satisfy HIPPA and a report to be sent to the physician if we feel like it?

Anyone lurking out there from IBLCE? Ann? Ros? Joanne? How about some of
you who were on the board long after I was? Kay? Barbara?
