May I offer the vegetarian perspective:

Even if one does not have any objections to eating meat from an ethical or
environmental viewpoint (where I'm coming from), it is full of hormones,
antibiotics, and pesticides.  Not a healthy first food, IMHO.

And vegetarians don't eat anything that had a mother.  So, yes, that includes
fish.  People who eat fish may call themselves vegetarians, but that's not
what they are.

i.e. I like the avocado solution.
