MD's don't "fire" patients. Just like a mother has the right to choose
another physician, a physician has the right to decline to care for a patient whom
he/she feels is endangering her child's health. There are procedures for this
with timetables, etc. to allow a patient time to find an alternate
practitioner. It is an entirely ethical practice.
