Cee wrote wondering if short vs longer periods of
Breastfeeding contributed to a later age of menopause. This
is strictly anecdotal: my grandmothers both had 10 children
over a 25 to 30 year period of time. Both had their last
child at 50. Both were Breastfeeding for most of the 25 to 30
years. My sisters and I and the cousins that I know
menopausal hx on have all Breastfed for extended periods @
least a 6 year total. The earliest any of us went into
menopause was 47 and the average was 54-56. Only the one who
went into menopause @ 47 has had Breast cancer, but she is a
smoker. Maybe we just have a different genetic makeup. Chris
