In my work with breastfeeding, as well as other topics regarding babies and children, I have had occasion to meet and befriend many people who happen to be gay.  Some of these have been parents and some have not, but all have been willing to invest their time, money, and often tears, for the benefit of the children of the world.  Many women have contacted me regarding their desire to breastfeed either a baby that they were adopting, with a female partner, or that the partner was giving birth to.  

Any homophobic statement made on Lactnet is inappropriate, in several ways, including the fact that it will offend other list members, who are devoted to the welfare of children, and promoting breastfeeding, and deserve as much respect as anyone else here.
