Had a good experience this weekend, providing a special class to a
prospective adoptive couple. They are providing a very loving home to four
children; and hope to adopt an infant soon. They are willing to take a
special needs infant and our state requires some education regarding special
needs--thus the class. Just so happens they are two gay men. Let's not get
into the pluses and minuses of this, ok? By the end of our day together, I
know I had their trust, so their real questions came out. They have really
given a lot of thought to so many issues. I was pretty impressed.

Literally as I was leaving, one parent asked me about getting a device to be
able to simulate nursing their baby. I'm thinking SNS or Lactaid; but as I
drove home I thought that that would probably not work. Wouldn't skin to
skin with a bottle provide some of the closer bonding these parents are
looking for? Don't I remember reading about a device more breast-shaped
than the SNS? Am I imagining this?

Any thoughts or experiences would be most appreciated.
