My 19 month old has had allergen issues since birth and still nurses at
night and several times during the day, has no teeth problems, and is in
the 80-90th percentiles respectively. I have been very careful to make sure
when he is finished that he has not pulled back on the nipple (so milk is
getting directly on the teeth)which toddlers tend to do. Also when he is
done nursing, I pull him off so if there is a let down with leaking it is
not pooling in his mouth. I agree that the breastmilk for this kind of
child is at his benefit since my son is the same way. Dentists only see the
worst of co-sleeping and night nursing because it is not brought up in an
appointment if there is no problem, I have typically been told by other
moms. I found help through other moms with the same issues and the great LC
that was helping me attain my CLE. Good luck!
