Pamela: we see "rusty pipe" a few times a month - in each case it has disappeared
or resolved when the milk "comes in". We feed babies "to tolerance" - it if
doesn't bother then, it doesn't bother us.  I always include a chart note for
peds in case they notice a "bloody" emesis or tarry stools.  I also encourage
the mother to BF or pump very frequently to initiate lactogenesis ASAP.
What you are seeing is typical reduction as "breast product " increases, the
sanguinous tint decreases - at least from our experience.
