Jean and Anne in Brisbane, Thanks very much for sending in these two very
different experiences in the use of HMF.

Jean, thanks for confirming that HMF was used very early for a tiny 640g 26
weeker. I find myself wondering how the "dose" of HMF was measured if
added to 0.5ml EBM!

Anne, thanks for letting us know the ways that HMF might be used in your
unit - this was exactly the kind of information I was looking for. Now I'm
wondering - if the babies at 1000g - 1800g are not gaining fast enough, how
much EBM per kilo would they be receiving at this point? What maximum
quantity per kilo is considered safe?

And hoping for more info from others - so that we could have a chance to
compare these different protocols, and discuss.

Pamela Morrison IBCLC, Zimbabwe
