Hemoragic disease of the newborn (forgive the spelling here - I am
simultaneously breasfeeding with this post and don't feel like getting up to
check the spelling) is more common in breastfed babies (Sorry but this is
true). However, 1 IM dose seems to do the trick for most babies so not all
pediatricians give more than one dose. I read the same thing in Pediatric
notes and then asked around about it and it is not standard practice best as
I can tell.
