In regard to epidural anesthesia, there are no studies that demonstrate causation
but there is much question about correlation.  Our culture does not value pain and
the triumph over it, as in childbirth.  And just why does birth have to painful?!
What other normal body function is painful?  Pain is the body's way of alerting us
that something has gone awry.  It's time for a paradigm shift.
