It seems as though the general consensus is that hard and fast "rules" about breastfeeding are generally a bad idea, such as offer both breasts at a feeding or feed the baby for "X" number of minutes per breast. I agree. The better "rule" is to be responsive to the baby and let them eat as long as they want to, I don't think moms necessarily have to offer both breasts at a feeding. I had a daughter that would often nurse for 5 minutes on one breast and be done. That was just her preference and her sister was very different. Thanks for all your help.
