Dear Lactnetters,

My SIL recently found out she may be having a baby with Down
Syndrome. Her AFP test indicated the possibility. She opted not to have an
amnio because she didn't want to risk miscarriage. Her ultrasound looked
good -- baby's heart appeared to be functioning well. This is her 2nd baby
- first baby is 18 mos and breastfed for 13 months. She was very successful
with breastfeeding and working full-time outside the home. She is highly
motivated, and I want to be ready to help her with her breastfeeding. I
have very limited experience with Down Syndrome babies and would appreciate
any and all information/experience/books recommendations, etc. TIA for your
attention to this.
