Reminds me of a conversation a co-leader had many years ago with a
neighbor who kept putting down breastfeeding.  Eventually my friend
said, "Well, after all that's what God put them there for!"  To this
the neighbor replied, "Well.....He could have changed His mind, you
know!"

I have observed that some people find it so hard to admit they are
wrong that they will come out with outrageous statements without
thinking just to continue to feel "in control" of the conversation.
