Karleen has asked about which organizations have stopped taking money from
Medela. I too have been consulted regarding the statement that the
International Code Documentation Center (ICDC) in Penang is preparing
regarding the Code status of Medela. The US Lactation Consultant
Association does not accept any type of funding from Medela. Neither does
the National Alliance for Breastfeeding Advocacy (NABA), nor the
Massachusetts Breastfeeding Coalition. Just go to the Medela website and
you will see their contest for mothers to win one of their Calma bottles
and the accompanying text idealizing the use of the product.
