Ban the Bags has a new one page handout entitled Hospital-Based Marketing of
Infant Formula which is suitable for use when talking with and educating
hospital administrators regarding removal of commercial discharge bags. This
sheet was created to address numerous common objections that staff and
administrators typically voice when faced with bag removal. This has been found
helpful for use along with supporting material that can be found at the Ban the
Bags website, _www.banthebags.org_ (http://www.banthebags.org) . Ban the Bags
also has a new handout which is a sample letter that mothers can write to their
hospitals if they receive a bag during their stay following birth. The letter
can be distributed in childbirth classes or given to mothers that you care
for post discharge. There are also a number of really fun items at
_www.cafepress.com/banthebags_ (http://www.cafepress.com/banthebags) for your work in
eliminating these bags from hospitals.

We have had a number of new hospitals go bag free and have now assembled a
list of over 100 hospitals that have done so. If your hospital has gone bag
free or if you know of one in your community please take just a couple of
minutes to let us know on the Ban the Bags website. This helps hospitals understand
that the issue is not unique to just one institution and that others have
chosen ethical behavior over peddling products to new mothers.
