I don't think it is necessary to wean for 24 hours, or at all for that
matter.  Why?  I think the mother can wash her nipples and areola before
the baby nurses and then reapply.

Absorption of the drug from skin is quite low, and the concentrations in
the milk likely to be virtually zip.
