Recently we had Molly Pessl come to our community and do a couple
workshops. Weighing prone was one of the "take home" messages I got. It
honestly never occurred to me to do anything other than what I had
always done and seen others do. I would even joke that "I cry when
somebody makes me get on a scale naked."

Well, I started having the mother's put the babies prone on the scale
and I can't believe how much less traumatic it is for them.

It just goes to show even when you've been "doing it" (I've got 12
years as an LC) for a long time, there are still things to learn. And
(duh!) it never occurred to me to let the nurses know they should adopt
this positioning, but I know what email I'll be sending out tomorrow
when I get to work.

Is it because we get so wrapped up in the BIG things, that we don't
even think to mention the little things?
