Where I have working in Australia it is routine practice to administer a
bolus of IV oxytocin (5iu) and then infuse it IV for some hours after
delivery (usually 20iu in a 1000ml bag), after a c/section. Given that this
is the 'freshest' time for the scar on the uterus, perhaps it is possible to
crunch the numbers of the dose of the oxytocin spray and compare. Along with
the fact of course that the mother is producing her own oxytocin anyway.
