I had a father tell me a few years ago that his parents made his formula
from the 4 basic food groups. They would blend milk, meat, fruits and
vegetables, and grains together and that was what he was fed from birth! He
was in his early 40's.

Lucky me, I was born in 1958 and BF for more than 2 years. So were my 2
siblings. The doctor told my mother that only "savages" bf and she told him
"savages and Irish women". She was a first generation American and worked
full-time as a teacher while breastfeeding all of us. It never even occurred
to me not to breastfeed my children and when I first started helping women I
was stunned to learn how much trouble they could have.

I think I will call my mom to say thanks!
