Hi Jessica
I have recently read a summary of a paper written in 1994 describing
induced lactation in Papua New Guinea with an 89% success rate.
The reference is:
Nemba KM 1994. Induced lactation: a study of 37 non-puerperal mothers.
J Topical Pediatrics 40: 240-242.

They describe two drug regimes:
1) for mothers who have never lactated - 100mg depo provera intra
muscular one week prior to chlorpromazine 25mg four times a day
and/or metoclopramide 10mg four times a day until adequate lactation
was established.
2) for mothers who had lactated previously - chlorpromazine or
metoclopramide in same doses, but no depo provera.
They also impressed the importance of frequent feeds, motivation,
family support etc.

Hope this helps
