Dear Shirley, you can recertify at the end of 5 years by documenting your
education hours (cerps), at the end of 10 you have to recertify by exam
(groan). If you chose not to prove hours for 5th year then you do have to
take exam.

Everyone I know scrounges for cerps because taking the test is so nerve
wracking. I have to take it again in the year 2006. I'll be old by then.
(feeling old, my birthday is next week) Do I have to retake exam when I'm
75 in 2016? What I want to know is when do we get to be emeritus? :-)
Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
