Jay: Almost every woman I know of has unequal milk production or at the
least it's harder to get it out of one breast. Once again, the chicken or
the egg applies...do babies prefer the easier breast, and therefore that
breast increases supply due to more stimulation OR is it just
physiologically normal. I think Lawrence mentions that there's a
correlation with left or right handedness. My left breast produces way
more milk, but I think it's because I'm right handed and I tend to wear my
babies in the sling on the left with them feeding football hold (clutch)
style. I've nursed through several CERP confernces this way. There are
cultures where women only bf on one side (and the breast cancer rate is
substantially lower in that breast).
