In a message dated 96-06-21 13:59:04 EDT, you write:

<< How would you talk about breastfeeding problems that the client might
encounter without framing breastfeeding as negative? (or without them
getting the impression that breastfeeding is too hard or too painful or too
 inconvenient?)

  Debi Barr,
I focus on the positive, as was said by others, and usually ask something
like "What have you all heard about bf, maybe some stories from friends or
family that you would like to clarify?" I usuallty get comments like "I
heard it really hurts" or "My friend couldn't make enough milk" or " You
can't eat beans" or whatever and then I address these and ask did you hear
this or that - common myths that I then clarify.

Hope this helps,
