(1) ILCA has, I believe from its very inception 24 years ago, had by-laws
-- the document that governs its very existence and operation -- that
require it to support the WHO Code: "[Fundamental Principle] 1. As an
organization, ILCA and its affiliates will not endorse any literature or
products, or accept direct funding from industries producing or marketing
products that do not comply with the *International Code of Marketing of
Breast-milk Substitutes* and subsequent WHA resolutions."

Irrespective of whether it is written as a fundamental principle, there are
affiliates who
do not comply with it and quite frankly, I can't understand how the ILCA
Board refuses to acknowledge
that Pigeon = Lansinoh.

Liz - there are others on this list who will remember ILCA's history better
than me
(and have been members of the Board or relevant committees), but I
understood that the by-laws
have been tightened from time to time, with members wanting to ensure that
Code violators
were not exhibitors or sponsors.

[If you're paying more than the actual cost of the space + inclusions, you
would be regarded as a sponsor.]
