Due to e-mail problems I haven't received all the digests for this week but at
the archives website I read a post from Tuesday 3 February which Ruth Piatak
sent to the author of the article, c/o the Globe, I believe. It was a great
letter, and anyone wanting to respond to the article should take a look at it
before doing so because it avoids flames while not mincing words, nor does it
belittle the article author's experience.
Lest anyone should think I have become very naive, let me say I am with
Valerie and Marsha on this: I don't think it is coincidence that this article
comes on the eve of the launching of the ad campaign. This is exactly what we
expected, but it doesn't mean that Dr. Sanghavi's experience is not real.
Learning that he and the mother took turns feeding the baby the first night
merely adds weight to the argument that education on BF needs to be
strengthened in medical school (and practically everywhere else).

Kristiansand, Norway, where the story of Janet Jackson's breast exposure
during the Super Bowl is a sensation - not because the breast was visible, but
because the sight of a breast sparked a storm of phone calls to the network
from angry viewers... and even the nipplephobes should have been mollified by
that *scary* spiked pasty she had on, IMO :-)
