On NBC's ER, I would disagree with the "latch on" advice given to the
character, Carol. There was no support for mom or baby (pillows), nurse told
her to wait for wide open mouth (this good), and "make sure baby gets ALL the
areola in her mouth." This is often not possible nor accurate as more of
areola near lower jaw should be drawn in and obviously some moms' areolas are
too large for baby to completely cover with gape/latch. She did say listen
for swallows, also good, but my guess is that no LC was consulted for this
show!

Our consortium wrote in praise of another character's BFing of premie awhile
ago and we heard from Ped who is a consultant and offered LC
assistance....oh, well.

The use of epidural and respose to it was yuck. I'm sure all who saw agree.
Some praise, some correction is needed.
