Baby's stress signals are important to note and point out to parents.
In
certain communities here the yawn is stifled by the mother closing the
baby's mouth with a finger and thumb on the cheeks. It's something to do
with not allowing the spirit to escape, I think. This inevitably causes
the baby to cry! It's so frustrating and I'm not sure how best to deal
with
  this issue sensitively.
