Along the lines of what was already posted on this topic, mothers who aren't
making enough milk and must supplement are often encouraged to introduce
solids a bit earlier so less supplement (usually ABM) is needed.

Of course, this assumes the baby is ready, healthy, and everything is
otherwise normal. I look at the introducing solids issue from the
perspective that more breastmilk is better; if the baby is already getting
something other than breastmilk, real food is probably preferable to an
engineered product, but if the baby is getting only breastmilk, why rush
introdicing complimentary foods?
