Just got our measures today. It is one of them. The hospital is gearing
up! Sometimes with excuses, other times with reasons to fix it. We’ll
see. But I'm excited! I was asked to speak about it. We are measuring
breastfeeding in the NICU on a day to day basis (what percent of babies are
getting any breast milk). We interpret as getting a DROP of formula as
non-exclusive. Nurses have to document why they gave formula. It is still
patient choice that drives it, but we know how nurses and society affect patient
choices, also.

~~~ Thanks for sharing this, Debbie. I'm excited too, for you and for the
moms and babies you will be helping. Kudos to all those hospitals and the
people  who work in them and with them, to ramp this up.
Peace,
Judy
