Unfortunately, Darilyn, I have had the same experience as you describe with
the few mothers I've worked with who have used Reglan. Two developed atardive
dyskinesia and several experienced depression. The last mother I worked with
who used Reglan (an MD who prescribed it for herself) became depressed and
needed Prozac before she would stop the Reglan. Fortunately, tincture of time,
slight readjustment of her thyroid dose, and the commitment to continue insurance
pumping ultimately fixed her milk supply and she has gone on to happily
exclusively breastfeed. She would never consider Domperidone because it is not FDA
approved although at one point she looked at me with an "Aha moment" and said
"but then neither is this lipil stuff I'm using to supplement. " I did not
prompt her to come to that conclusion. I don't push mothers to use Domperidone--I
direct them to sources of info about it and let them make their own decisions.
The powers that be in our medical center would like us never to mention
it--they don't realize that it's become common knowledge in our area among
breastfeeding mothers and is discussed and recommended in mothers groups. We recently
had a nurse midwife with a premie in our NICU--she raved about Domperidone to
many of the other mothers.

Getting way off the intention of my original post so will sign off now.
