Hey, Martha, Queen of the Tricky-tricksters and Linda:

Great idea of sharing our gimmicks and good tricks of the trade with each
other. Would anyone like to compile them?

Here's my first contribution:

When I am beginning a lecture to medical personnel/nurses, etc. I seriously
ask the audience if someone would be so kind as to define for me what a
mammal is? (implying that they certainly know a lot more than simple
me....grin)
After a brief silence, someone usually says,
"An animal that nurses its young"
  Correct!
"Now, could someone tell me what group of animals we humans belong to?"
(This is usually met with a much longer silence....to which I respond,"come
on now, some of you DID take biology, right?")
After a while a voice pops up saying that we are mammals.
"AAAAAAAAH, then can anyone tell me why we are the ONLY mammal who thinks
we can avoid our biological destiny - to nurse our young with our own
milk?"

By this time they are really looking sheepish and grinning at the mass
stupidity of present day society. And I have only pointed out the very
simplist of facts.

----------

Bye,

Roberta
