The pediatric committee at a hosp in my area has voted that I come in as
an independent LC, that is, I'd contract directly with the
client/patient and would be reimbursed by the client/patient. The hosp
administration says I must have workmans' comp ins in order to come in.
I have inquired and cannot get workman's comp as an independent
contractor. The pediatricians have asked that I post the following
questions to you all with hopes that it will be of help.
Those of you that function independently in the hosp, do you have
workman's comp ins? If not, please tell me the name of the hosp and
where it is located.
If you have workman's comp ins. which company insured you?
May I share this info with the peds? They are hoping the reponses will
influence the administration to allow me to come in.
Thank you all in advance.
