Congratulations, Frank! After such a long labor it must be nice to
see the baby in print :-) Thanks for the heads up. One of the most
common reasons we get e-mails to our BF mothers association is advice
by over-cautious and under-informed health care professionals about
breastfeeding while taking medications. Despite there being good
reference works in Norwegian on line, HCPs tend not to use them and to
tell mothers at best to pump and discard their milk, or, at worst, to
wean before being treated for short-lasting conditions that are
treated with medications entirely compatible with breastfeeding.
Can't get this message out often enough and you should reach a key
group involved in advising breastfeeding mothers. Good work :-)
