Today's Phila. Inquirer ran a long editorial about FTT which focused on
low income kids and how more help is needed in this area. Overall, a good
thing. But, there was this: "'Failure to thrive' is a diagnosis with
causes that go beyond the simple lack of food. Allergies, nursing
problems, and other factors that can lead to failure to thrive can affect
middle-class babies too." No mention that these allergies start with
ABM, or that many of these lower-income babies never get nursed, or that
many lower-income moms don't have access to LCs or pumps etc. A later
example of a FTT 15-month old is one that is allergic to milk.
