Unfortunately, when there is a seperation, there is rarely going to be a perfect solution. It's unfortunate the baby is so small. Breastfeeding will come under fire sooner or later (as it did with me - my daughter was a preschooler and still nursing).

What could be helpful is looking at what the mother CAN do when the baby is with her. One mother wrote that sperating is learning to let go of your mothering ideals....it's a difficult lesson.
