Yesterday I was asked a question that I could not answer. Baby's poppa was
a retired radiologist and we were talking about how often baby might be
hungry. He stated that when he worked with adult patients, if you lay them
on the R side, the stomach empties faster due to the location and shape of
the stomach. His question was that if we lay a baby on the L side will he
go longer between feedings and on the R eat sooner?

I thought this was a very interesting idea. If it is true, it might be a
way to help some dyads. Reflux babies would be held on the R. Mom's who
need a little more sleep would hold their babies on the L as would mom's
dealing with oversupply do reduce green stools.

Anyway, is it possible that positioning would make a difference in how often
baby asks to eat?
